Owned and operated by Dr. Barbara Royal, DVM, CVA, The Royal Treatment is an integrative veterinary practice, combining traditional veterinary services with complementary medicine and rehabilitation — including underwater treadmill therapy, acupuncture, chiropractic, massage, herbal and nutritional consultation, holistic medicine, and chronic care. Our practice does not include a surgical suite. We are located on the north side of Chicago, just north of Irving Park Road on the Chicago River.

Experienced Veterinary Technician

 

The Royal Treatment Veterinary Center, an integrative care clinic, is seeking a full-time, fully-trained veterinary technician. We are looking for a self-motivated team player to join our friendly and highly accomplished staff. Our work environment is very upbeat, a small animal hospital with a high level of personal client interaction. 

In addition to a love for animals, the right person will have exceptional communication skills and be able to function effectively in a fast-moving work environment. Experience in alternative medicine and veterinary rehabilitation is a plus.

Typical responsibilities include:

Proper animal restraint for procedures, radiographs, and treatments
Medication preparation and administration
Assistance for veterinarian in exams, euthanasias, and procedures
Blood draws and in-house labwork/cytology/sent-out lab processing
IV catheter placement
Radiograph positioning and processing (digital)
Taking blood pressure readings
Dental treatments
Detailed communication with clients
Underwater treadmill treatments
Rehab exercises and treatments
Acquisition and recording of patient’s case history
Computerized Data entry and record keeping
Maintenance of pharmacy and DEA records

Veterinary Receptionist

The Royal Treatment Veterinary Center, an integrative care clinic, is seeking a full-time veterinary receptionist to work 35-40 hours per week. We are looking for a self-motivated team player to join our friendly and highly accomplished staff. Our work environment is very upbeat, a small animal hospital with a high level of personal client interaction. Shifts will include evening and possibly weekend hours. Flexibility in scheduling is helpful.

 

In addition to veterinary reception experience, the right professional will be friendly, have great communication skills, and be able to handle multiple simultaneous responsibilities in a fast-paced environment while consistently demonstrating compassion and empathy for pets and their owners. Front desk experience at a veterinary office is a must. Emergency clinic phone experience is a big plus. Interest and experience in alternative medicine and veterinary rehabilitation preferred.
