New Clients

Please read the following carefully before scheduling an appointment.

Because our schedule is based on certain allotments of time for each appointment it is extremely important that you arrive a few minutes early. There will be a good amount of paperwork to fill out in advance to help the doctor get a complete picture of your pet’s history.  To help you prepare for your first visit, you may complete our intake form in advance of your appointment.  You may email us a copy of the form or bring it with you to your appointment.  Click here to download a copy of our intake form.

Please include as much detail about your pet as possible.  Holistic medicine entails going over all information about the pet’s lifestyle, diet, preferences, vaccination history, and historical ailments that from a holistic perspective are important.  Medical records from previous veterinarians, specialists, or emergency room visits are also reviewed as part of your initial visit.  We prefer to request these records in advance of your appointment and will offer to make the request on your behalf, or you may bring records with you to your appointment.

Initial visits typically take one hour, but due to the variety of cases we see it is possible for us to spend longer with you and your pet.  In most cases, we may need to see your pet back in one week to one month depending on the treatments used and their condition. Once your pet’s condition is improved and stable, the frequency of necessary visits will decrease and may only be once every 6 months. In order to continue to prescribe supplements and medications, we must see your pet at the very least once every 12 months.

At the conclusion of the first visit, you will receive a written plan including information on tests performed, results if any are available, and any recommendations. A staff member will go over this plan with you to make sure everything is clear and if not will have the doctor get in touch with you to clarify and follow up care will be scheduled.

Prescription Refills
We require a 24-hour prescription refill notice if you are picking up medications at the hospital. Under special circumstances, prescriptions can be filled with short notice.  Once you have purchased medication for your pet and it has left our practice, we are unable to provide refunds or exchanges.
